![]() Traditional Japanese MedicineTraditional Japanese Medicine:-Peter King was taught and fully licensed in the 'Amatsu Tatara Hichibuku Goshinjutsu' Traditional Japanese Medicine by Dr Hatsumi Masaaki (who is the Japanese Headmaster of the system). Peter is one of only four practitioners worldwide to have received 'Menkyo Kaiden' (Japanese -'Master Teacher / Practitioner's Licence') which is the highest level of qualification that can be awarded within this tradition. The Hichibuku Goshinjutsu system integrates bodywork (including neuromuscular re-balancing, skeletal manipulation, fascial and cranial work), acupuncture and natural medicine to balance the body’s:- Injury, anxiety and illness cause compensatory adaptations within the body. These remain in the body far beyond the natural need for protection and repair. Their presence prevents the body from returning to homoeostasis (natural balanced health). Japanese Natural Medicine utilises a holistic treatment approach to restore health and well-being. Hichibuku Traditional Japanese Medicine uses the following methods:- Japanese self correction exercises. These include all stretching (Junan Taiso)and movement exercises (similar to 'Do-in' exercises) that enable patients to maintain health and rehabilitate after injury and disease. Japanese massage, acupressure and reflex points. This promotes repair and the restoration of normal function by releasing muscle tensions, restoring vital energy and improving drainage. This restoration of balance creates a state of health and vitality. Japanese Anma was the original form of Shiatsu. Japanese acupressure (Japanese - 'finger pressure')uses direct pressure to stimulate 'tsubo' (acupoints)in order to balance the body's energetic system, whilst also relaxing and stretching areas of muscle tension. Japanese body realignment and neuromuscular rebalancing. This works on the biomechanical and energetic relationships that exist between the; head /neck, spine, pelvis and the feet, to restore alignment and balance throughout the structure of the body. The result is a restoration of natural health, a reduction in stress and body strain and also an increase in coordination. Japanese Skeletal Manipulation balances the body by correcting restrictions and misalignments to the skeletal joints. Dr Hatsumi states that "All illnesses have something to do with the abnormality of the spine". In addition such restrictions in the joints create stagnation which inhibits the free flow of 'Ki' (vital energy). Using a heated 'Moxa' herb stick above the skin surface to encourage the body's energetic pathways and healing mechanisms. Especially useful with deep injuries or chronic conditions Japanese Acupuncture maintains the balanced and free flow of 'Ki' around the body and to the vital organs. Acupuncture is internationally recognised as a powerful therapeutic treatment for a wide range of conditions. Moxa (herbal heat treatment) is also be used in cold or chronic conditions. Using suction cups to stimulate blood circulation and underlying musculature. Also traditionally used to draw toxins out of the body. Japanese nutrition. The principle is ‘you are what you eat’. Food can be a very powerful medicine and is about more than just having sufficient nutrients, vitamins and minerals. By choosing the correct foods you can counteract stress, disease and general body weaknesses . Japanese abdominal / visceral technique used for diagnosis and treatment of the internal organs. Japanese Herbal Medicine. Specific herbs are used to raise the weakened constitution and to combat disease of the body and vital organs. Emergency methods of resuscitation and revival. Japanese Ki (bio-energy) healing. Used to remove blockages in vital energy and restore the body's innate energetic balance and resonance.
